In our July issue Dr. Charles D. Aring (1) wrote on the physician's view of death and how he can prepare himself for better care of the dying patient. This theme is treated with other variations in a recent paper (2) from Australia, "Emotional Reactions Associated with Death." Its author, Dr. John Ellard, concentrates on attitudes of man to his inevitable but yet distant death, the effect of death on surviving family, and the patient's experience of dying.
