This book offers an excellent basic text of fundamental principles of screening for disease. Its orientation and emphasis are toward other than communicable diseases, and it is thus of especial pertinence to readers in the United States.
Sections are included on Definitions, Principles, Practice, Illustrative Examples, Methodological Trends, and Conclusions. References number 264. It may be noted that the first author is Principal Medical Officer, Ministry of Health, London, and orientation may sometimes appear excessively toward existing British medical conditions.
