Twenty-one papers from a symposium held at University of Manchester in June 1967. Topics reviewed in these short chapters include the following: nitrogen, uric acid, protein, acidbase, calcium, and carbohydrate in patients with renal failure; malnutrition; and diet therapy. Index, references, and discussions (spiced by especially tart remarks from S. W. Stanbury).
Useful, albeit in part sketchy, summaries of interest to the clinician concerned with the pathophysiology and treatment of chronic renal failure. Too expensive a publication in view of its ephemeral value; a paper-backed, offset-printed typescript version at half the price would have been a more considerate choice.
