The reporting of the development of automated multiphasic health screening is progressing along the path traveled by innovations in medical practice in the past. After the periodical literature picks up speed at varying rates the monographs and books appear. In this field the periodical phase has been foreshortened. During the past 2 years three books have been published on the subject even before the peak volume of publications has occurred.
The traditional polarization of opinion and judgment is already apparent—uncritical acceptance, acceptance with qualifications, rejection with qualification, and out-of-hand rejection. This book presents the latter three positions.
