The late Professor Sidi of La Fondation Rothschild (Paris) states in this new collaborative monograph that no real therapeutic progress has been made in the past 50 years and that psoriasis has become the despair of both physicians and patients. In fact, there has been considerable progress. The problem of crippling arthritis in psoriasis is beautifully covered here, and there is an excellent summary of the biochemical changes that appear to be the result of increased epidermopoiesis rather than causative. The chapter on nail changes would have benefited greatly by inclusion of recent work of Zaias.
