Invited authors will compose three monographs per year in a new serial publication called Cardiovascular Clinics.
The first issue contains 17 papers comprehensively covering the pathophysiology of hypertensive cardiovascular disease. The text is concisely written by competent authorities on each subject, and the information is quite current. The monograph contains many excellent illustrations, especially in the sections on "Pathological Aspects" by Lynch and Edwards, "Reversible Renal Hypertension" by Vidt and Gifford, "Hypertension Associated with Parenchymal Renal Disease" by Hunt, Strong, Harrison, and Furlow, and "Renovascular Hypertension" by Kaufman, Lupu, and Maxwell. References for documentation and additional reading are well selected.
