To the editor: The excellent article, "Serologic Diagnosis of Parasitic Infections in Medical Practice," by Louis H. Miller and Harold W. Brown, appearing in the November 1969 issue of the ANNALS, is an authoritative study of a vast subject. However, in the discussion on mansoni schistosomiasis the authors do not mention the circumoval precipitin test. The blood test is currently widely used in Puerto Rico (1) and has been used in the Philippines and Brazil (2) for the diagnosis of acute and chronic Schistosoma mansoni infection.
