Every physician must be aware of the growing interface of medicine and the law. The Legal Medicine Annual 1969 sketches in an excellent and enthusiastic manner the ever more complicated and sometimes seemingly antagonistic junction of law and medicine. Perhaps one half of the book is devoted to legal issues with medical implications; much of the remainder deals with medical and toxicologic subjects, each having its own legal associations. A careful balance of interests is gleaned from an examination of the contributors' backgrounds: seven attorneys, seven physicians, six scientists, and six authors who hold degrees in both law and medicine.
