Thirty years of interest, investigation, contributions, and expertise qualify Jan Waldenström to write a short book concerning his experiences with 140 victims of multiple myeloma followed personally between 1950 and 1967. Many of the important basic and clinical issues relating to this disease are discussed. Almost all of these are illustrated by brief case histories, a feature that is sometimes so prominent that the narrative often appears to be a series of anecdotes.
