The mechanical aspects of indexing, which take up most of this little manual, are covered equally well elsewhere; but the pages on the conceptual basis for topical organization of an index (Chapter Five) are an unusually helpful and valuable guide to a difficult task for the novice. Highly recommended for publications offices of medical schools and large clinical institutions.
