A systematic discussion of digitalis intoxication is certainly a welcome addition to the medical literature. This monograph is intended mainly for clinicians. It deals with the pharmacology and administration of digitalis, various manifestations of digitalis toxicity, the predisposing factors, and treatment of digitalis intoxication. Ample references are listed at the end of each chapter.
The important section on digitalis-induced arrhythmias is perhaps the best of this volume. Many illustrative and interesting examples are provided. The technical quality of the electrocardiograms is generally good.
There is some unnecessary repetition in several portions of this book. The discussion on parasystole and Wolff-Parkinson-White
