A classic in popularization of protozoology. Although some details reflect the publication date of the original edition, 1938, Dr. Hegner's survey of the ubiquitous protozooan parasites of man, lower vertebrates, and invertebrates remains an amusing, charming account that can be enjoyed by biology buffs from junior high school to geriatric retreats. Give a copy to that potential premed kid next door, but don't open the book before you deliver it; he might not get to see it.
