These 42 papers from a symposium held at Richland, Wash., 20-29 May 1968 (sponsored by U. S. Atomic Energy Commission and the Battelle Memorial Institute) cover normal myelopoiesis and the causes, pathology, immunology, and biochemistry of myelogenous diseases in man and animals. The emphasis is on comparative and veterinary medicine, but at the giveaway price this collection will be worth the attention of hematologists in human medicine, notably for a number of broad interests—granulocytopoiesis (Cronkite and Vincent), myeloproliferative disorders (Dameshek), radiation and myeloproliferative disorders (Vaughan), and myeloid metaplasia (Schmidt, Ward, and Block).
