Most clinicians have an interest in laboratory methods. Many have their own laboratory. A new manual of laboratory procedures, like a new cook book, is therefore of general interest. New recipes may be useful.
My interest is chiefly in hematology, so I immediately turned to the index for a "new method" for serum iron. No index, like most cook books. A table of contents runs through the first six pages. The headings are Chemistry, Endocrinology, Blood Bank, Hematology, Histology, Bacteriology, Serology, and Miscellaneous.
