The teaching of pathology, in common with other medical subjects, is undergoing drastic changes. Professors no longer make the tacit assumption that every medical student should become a pathologist and hence must be thoroughly familiar with the minutiae of special lesions, but instead they are atempting to stress the principles underlying disease as shown by biopsy, necropsy, or experiment.
