To the editor: The letter by Dr. Kingdon in the October issue (Ann Intern Med 73:656, 1970), concerning a case of viral hepatitis after the administration of a factor IX concentrate (Konȳne®, Cutter Laboratories), prompts me to record our experiences with the same product.
In 1968 and 1969, before the release of Konȳne, the Hemophilia Service of the Long Island Jewish Medical Center took part in an evaluation of the material. At that time the preparation was called Hemoplex.
