A photographic atlas that presents the fundamentals of gross anatomy with cross-sections and regional dissections of fetal cadavers. The author intends that his book be used as a primer, but most of the views will not be comprehensible to students without supplementary instruction. A more probable value of the atlas will be in supplementing standard atlases of adult structure. Many of the photographs illustrate features less effectively than drawings or diagrams, and their reproduction in halftones often conveys too narrow a range of tonality for adequate clarity.
