Sixty papers from a conference held in October 1969 at the Center for Disease Control, Atlanta, Georgia: the organism Histoplasma capsulatum, ecology, epidemiology, control, clinical features, diagnosis, immunology, prevention, treatment, and prospects for new developments.
Although these papers form a multiauthored, non-sequential text, the collection is so comprehensive and detailed as to serve effectively as an authoritative and highly useful textbook on this too infrequently recognized infection.
The price is high for a symposium proceedings, but the book is well printed and indexed; it should be in the libraries of medical schools and larger hospitals.
