The rapidly expanding field of surgical management in rheumatoid arthritis is effectively covered in this collection of papers from international orthopedic authorities delivered at a 1970 course at McGill. The various procedures available for surgical treatment of most joints are concisely discussed in separate chapters. Excellent summarizing chapters by the editors follow reports of several different procedures that might be applied to the knee and hip. Similar summarizing chapters would have been useful in reference to the other joints also.
