Thirty-two essays originally published, mostly in journals, between 1945 and 1970. Dr. Aring, a literate, expressive, sensitive, and sage neurologist, comments in these essays on medical education, students, humane aspects of practice, medical writing, and death. His prose is direct and simple but distinctive; his wisdom arises from a long and reflective life that has been occupied with wide reading, diligent teaching, and close observation of man's effect on man.
Dr. Aring's essays are recommended to all students and physicians who will take time to listen to illuminating comment on the human scene.
