To the editor: I wonder how many other "prescribing physicians were dismayed by the paper of Stolley, et al (Drug Prescribing and Use in an American Community, 76:537-540, 1972) and your editorial comment in the April issue. Such ideas should certainly be distributable to all physicians, along with the pharmaceutical propaganda. Alas!
I should like to suggest an alternative to the emphasis of these papers. Although there were allusions to the role of the teaching center, my feeling was that the finger of blame was being pointed at me and the drug industry. I think I am more likely to
