The conversion of hemodynamic data into accurate clinical diagnoses is indeed a meritorious aim, and the authors of this monograph are to be congratulated as setting out clearly this purpose of their book. It comes, therefore, as an even greater disappointment for the reader to find that he is confronted by an almost endless number of indexes and formulas, with very little critical approach to their use and that, by and large, he is given very little help in their diagnostic significance.
