The working party that produced Personality and Science was composed of physicians in various specialties, theologians, and barristers, called together under the auspices of The Ciba Foundation to consider the ethical implications of using surgical procedures and drugs that will alter personality. The senior editor is the Lord Bishop of Durham; the junior editor is a psychiatrist and the deputy director of the sponsoring foundation.
