The authors deserve much credit for assembling the easily readable, factually sound, and carefully selected subject matter in their text. The subtitle clearly describes both the intent as well as the content of this book. Each chapter is well planned, and the subject matter is in excellent sequence, proceeding logically from the anatomy and function of the female reproductive tract, to family planning and genetics, to conception, gestation, and delivery. A final chapter on gynecologic disorders is also included. Detailed descriptions of the mechanics of obstetrics are appropriately reserved for a more clinical text. Thus there is time and space
