Judging from the comprehensive bibliography of over 2000 references, the author of this monograph has spent a great deal of time and effort in reviewing the world's literature. But the text is extremely cumbersome, mainly because of the extensive range of the subject matter and the depth of each subsection. The text is divided into three lengthy sections: the role of all nutritional agents on erythropoieses, on leukopoiesis, and on thrombopoiesis; finally, there is a short section on altered conditions—mainly those caused by exogenous agents, physical, chemical, or infectious.
