To the editor: In the May 1972 issue (Ann Intern Med 76:837) Dr. Joe D. Hull writes about receiving "junk" mail, as he terms it. It is evident that he is a recent graduate and not in practice, judging'from the dates through which he saved the so-called junk mail. Most of the complaints that I have seen in the past years about throwaway journals received have been by younger physicians.
I find every throwaway publication of value; throughout the year there is always some excellent educational material that has practical application. Many of the free publications are of more educational
