In October 1971, a group of 216 persons from the United States, Canada, and Great Britain gathered in Seattle, Washington for 2 days to discuss the current status of automated multiphasic testing. Eighteen prepared papers were presented and discussed. At the conclusion of the conference a general discussion and summary involving most of the participants was led by several of the keynote speakers. This volume records, almost verbatim, the papers as they were delivered and the discussion that followed them.
Multiphasic examinations, as it was pointed out during the conference, have three purposes: case finding, health monitoring, and evaluating therapy.
