For the english-speaking reader the book of Race and Sanger has been the standard work on blood groups in man. Several revised editions attest its popularity. The success of any new attempts to compile the huge accumulation of genetic data on old and new blood groups will depend on clear analysis of complex data from many sources, thorough review of the vast literature, and selective emphasis on problems important to various "special interests" among the branches of human genetics.
