No matter how thoroughly a new medical text may cover a field, many of the contributions already are 4 or 5 years old by the time of publication, and the physician must constantly update his knowledge of the current literature. For the broad field of dermatologic disorders, much of this problem of "keeping-up" should be resolved by the publication of Clinical Dermatology. These five volumes (four of text and one well-thought-out index volume) are a loose-leaf reference encyclopedia. With the text's publication, Harper & Row have sensibly established a reference service for their subscribers to keep abreast of rapid changes
