Six papers presented at the Sixth European Conference on Microcirculation in 1970 are contained in this slim volume. The articles include studies of microvascular changes after slow and rapid thawing of frozen tissue; evaluation of changes in the pulmonary circulation after hemorrhagic shock; the rheologie effect of plasma expanders, such as dextran and gelatin, used to produce normovolemic hemodilution; the use of microphotoelectric plethysmography to study the microcirculation in a titanium chamber installed in a skin chamber in the upper arm of man, as well as the microcirculatory effects of various dietary fats.
