As its title suggests, this in an informed discussion of rheumatoid arthritis that is directed at the layman. It informally deals with various problems relating to the disease, notably those most frequently encountered by the patient and his physician. One of the authors is not a physician but a patient with rheumatoid arthritis, and much of his experience, including his reaction to his illness, is informatively reviewed as a dialogue between the patient and the physician co-authors. Discussion includes the diagnostic approach to rheumatoid arthritis, etiology, pathogenesis, and management.
