To the editor: In the recent article, "Islet Cell Tumors: Current Concepts and Management," (Ann Intern Med 79:239-257, 1973) the authors state, "in patients with undiagnosed seizure disorders, however, this drug [diphenylhydantoin] may partially mask both the clinical and diagnostic chemical features of insulinoma." It is hoped that patients will not be given diphenylhydantoin without a diagnosis.
