Largely anecdotal and at times platitudinous, this small book emphasizes the importance of careful attention to the "interpersonal milieu" in the nurse's dealing with the sick older person. The author gives little indication why such an approach should be unique to the management of illness among older people. There is brief mention of some practical mechanical problems in nursing care for the geriatric patient, but these are not elaborated. In summary, this book is probably of little use to the physician or the nurse dealing with the older patient. The cost of this soft-cover book of 61 pages is absurd,
