A textbook for medical students that has been developed for clarity, economy, and relevance. Each major region of the body is described with an emphasis on functional consequences of structure and illustrated with simple, effective diagrams and drawings. Clinical problems are set for students to illustrate the significance of particular anatomical details; specific directions for dissection are given. Not a substitute for more thorough discussions of clinically relevant anatomy such as one finds in "surgical anatomies," but a much more useful textbook for beginning students than the traditional encyclopedic texts that professors used to assign.
