To the editor: In the last paragraph of "The Natural Course of Alcoholic Cardiomyopathy" (Ann Intern Med 80:293-297, 1974), the authors compare their data to those of McDonald, Burch, and Walsh and, it appears, incorrectly. They state that McDonald and his associates had shown a return to normal heart size in 21 of 42 patients and that that was 44%. Obviously, it is 50% of those who were followed.
