To the editor: A simple method of estimating creatinine clearance from the serum creatinine would be very useful in planning the dosage of certain drugs when renal function is impaired. Since urine collection in seriously ill patients is often impractical, a number of formulas have been proposed that are either cumbersome (1) or require the use of a computer (2).
