In spite of great effort and some partial successes in research on hypertension during the past three decades, the causation of this common disease remains an unsolved problem. Mechanisms of Hypertension is a compilation of 40 papers presented and discussed at the International Workshop Conference held in Los Angeles, 7 to 9 March 1973.
Twelve sessions of the Workshop have been grouped under seven chapters, most of them consisting of two or three parts. Each chapter or part is followed by recordings of ample discussion set up and summarized by the subeditor of each session. The volume does not claim
