The introduction to this compendium of 14 papers and accompanying discussions provides an excellent summary of its contents. "We start with a general comparison of the parasites from a taxonomic point of view and go on to discuss epidemiology, pathogenicity and problems of immunity. Then we take a closer look at the parasites, their ultrastructure, nutrition and metabolism, and finally consider problems of chemotherapy and drug resistance."
