Not since Baer and Sulzberger's short monograph Atopic Dermatitis, published in 1955, has there been published a comprehensive, concise book on this controversial subject. Atopic Dermatitis, by George Rajka and written chiefly for dermatologists, pediatricians, and allergists, is volume 3 in the series Major Problems in Dermatology. Rajka is an ideal choice as author of this volume; he has studied this disease for many years and is today one of the world's leading authorities. In 10 chapters he describes with clarity and detail the clinical, immunologic, and therapeutic aspects of atopic dermatitis, offering many opinions based on his own experience.
