This catalog of human chromosome variability, with major emphasis on chromosome structural variation, is arranged in three sections, "Structural Variations and Anomalies," "Numerical Anomalies," and "Chromosome Breakage Syndromes." By far, the largest section deals with structural variation and anomalies of the human chromosomes, and although most of these are chromosome structural rearrangements, this section also includes some references to human polymorphic chromosome variants.
The author intends that this catalog aid in identifying cell lines for gene assignment studies. Unfortunately, this is perhaps the only use that such a catalog will have, literally as a bibliography of human chromosome variability. It
