As stated in the preface, "the purpose of this book is to assist the physician in dealing quickly and effectively with acute chemical poisonings arising through misuse of commercial products." This book remains the only one of its kind because of its large compilation of information on toxic ingredients in household, industrial, and drug products. In spite of the inevitable deficiencies in a book as large as this, it remains an extremely valuable resource to all those concerned with the emergency treatment of intoxicated persons.
