One hundred twenty-four papers from a symposium held at the Texas Heart Institute. They provide a detailed and wide view of recent research and experience in decisions for coronary artery surgery, diagnosis, medical and surgical management (including operative methods), postoperative problems, and prognosis. This collection will give little help to readers who have not kept up with the main developments in this field—it presents the old problem of trees obscuring the forest—but it should be in clinical libraries serving cardiologists and cardiac surgeons.
