Although its title suggests that this book is directed toward surgeons, cardiologists and other physicians dealing with the physiology and pathophysiology of arterial and venous disease will find this a highly useful text for both basic concepts and reference data. The text deals primarily with the peripheral circulatory system, although there is an excellent chapter on cardiac hemodynamics that provides the necessary supplementary information to the primary topic. The text has more formulae and physical concepts than the reader of general medical texts is used to seeing.
