A seminar to consider the role of sociology in community medicine was held in October 1974 at the Centre for Extension Training in Community Medicine of the London
School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. The report consists of five "position papers" by medical sociologists and the seminar's discussion of them. The topics sound interesting and comprehensive: an overview of sociology in community medicine, the relation between doctor and patient, the etiology of disease, political science, communication, and the teaching of community medicine.
