This textbook with accompanying filmstrips emphasizes the laboratory aspects of hematology, but the first section does give a short introduction to the main hematologic disorders, their pathogenesis, and clinical and laboratory findings. Bleeding disorders due to plasma factor deficiencies are not discussed, as the text is directed toward hematologic abnormalities of cellular structures. These chapters are short, very precise, and concise. The references are predominantly from standard publications in their respective areas. The reader is not burdened with an excess of numbers and statistics.
