To the editor: Successful treatment of tumoral calcinosis with phosphorus deprivation was reported by Mozaffarian, Lafferty, and Pearson (1). They suggested the use of aluminum hydroxide containing antacids and a diet low in calcium and phosphorus.
In support of the efficacy of this treatment we wish to describe a 16-year-old Iranian boy with a 7-year history of development of hard tumors in the regions of the hip and right scapula.
Three operations had been required to remove large calcific masses from the hip and right scapula areas 3 and 6 years previously, respectively. The histologic diagnosis was tumoral calcinosis.
