This authoritative and detailed, although concise, monograph was welcome in its first edition. This second edition is as valuable in view of the continued rapid growth in some aspects of this field. Clinical problems are dealt with only briefly, but this book remains an excellent introduction to the chemistry and physiology of bone and its mineral and organic components for endocrinologists, nephrologists, rheumatologists, and nutritionists.
