An authoritative and comprehensive survey of congenital and acquired disorders that affect the vertebrae, intervertebral disks, and the spinal cord: congenital and developmental malformations and anomalies; endocrine and metabolic disorders; infections and immunologic diseases; toxic effects; neoplasms; blood diseases; and arterial lesions. Emphasis on histologic and clinical features and roentgenorgraphic interpretation; little attention given to pathogenesis or treatment. Inadequate for internists and rheumatologists as a sole source of reference on clinical problems with the spine but useful as a supplement to standard texts on rheumatology and other disciplines concerned with disease of bone.
