The second edition of this text on immunology has been greatly expanded. It contains 20 well-written and well-edited chapters on almost every aspect of immunology as it affects the practice of medicine. The format of the text, similar to that used by other texts on clinical immunology, is oriented in two spheres. The immunopathology of organ systems such as the kidney, skin, and lung are discussed as separate entities. In addition, patterns of immunologic diseases such as anaphylaxis and serum sickness, immune deficiency, immunotherapy, and immunosuppression are treated as separate entities.
