A book on the behavioral aspects of patient care would be useful to the primary care physician if it were relevant to his or her medical practice and were presented in a nontechnical, concise style. The authors come close to this goal with a well-done general approach to patient care. An additional effort is made, however, to teach the understanding and management of psychiatric disorders to non-psychiatrists.
